Updates part I

Hey everyone. Your extremely weary VP here again for updates.

  • I've read the 500-word essay on why you guys weren't wearing your ties. I have to admit it is our fault for not making it very clear of whether you are supposed to wear your ties, but on your part you should have at least asked about it. What happened to communication? This is very bad. But why I'm using a red font is to symbolise that I'm VERY VERY ANNOYED by a couple of you, and amused by the rest. Not that its funny. I just appreciate some of you being honest & to being very apologetic. I DO NOT AT ALL appreciate those who have been plain rude in their essays. There is a fine line between attitude and being cheeky. An extremely fine line indeed. No matter how much miscommunication between the seniors and juniors there are, or whether it was our grave mistake in overlooking informing you of the correct actions to take, you still MUST be polite to your seniors, even in situations where you find that you have to inform them where they went wrong.
  • Regarding the above, a thousand apologies for not clearing the air of confusion, and suddenly imposing a 500-word essay to question and punish you regarding the ties and badges. It is partially our mistake.
  • However, however, the need for respect for us still stands. Obviously some of you lack that knowledge. I detect impudence in your essays. Really. I will see to it that your friend's essays get scanned and you read it yourself and tell me whether this fellow councillor ought to have a talk with me regarding having respect for seniors.
  • Some of you brought up the camp being cancelled and being disappointed blah blah blah... it is not the organiser's fault. Sorry if you were looking forward to it. We all were. But you have to realise that because of the H1N1 thingy going around we HAD to cancel it. Get it? So please be more understanding. Thx.
  • I am posting at a mad time of 1.19, as to my computer's clock (although you didn't need to know that) because I felt the blog needed some attending to. Touched? No?
  • Nominees for Presidency are out. PLEASE PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU, the future of the council lies in this person(s)' hands - make the right choice. DO NOT EVER, EVER EVER judge based on personal preference, biasedness (because he/she is your BFF or whatever), or "oh, I think this person is pretty/handsome/hot/cute so I shall vote for him/her!" None of that bull you hear me. NONE. You guys are councillors. It is demanded you have more rational thinking in your minds, right? I trust you guys will think more along the lines of "is this person influential? capable?" please tell your friends that. Don't regret your choice later. I mean it.
  • Hope you enjoyed the VERY VERY overdue photos last post.
  • Study hard. ganbatte!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Several seniors complained of juniors not being civil to them. I am warning you, I am getting names. I will deal with you, no matter how tired I am. It pisses me off to know that you were THAT rude to others. If you did that to me, I'd like to _________ but since I'm so mild I would settle for a lecture instead. Hah.

End of post. The time now is 1.25. Its crazy.. What am I doing? Please don't follow my example. Sleep is extremely essential for focus. I just have a lot of things to do nowadays.

Camp... and maybe some updates.

Last Friday and Saturday, we held our first council camp in 2009. Although I am too lazy to post about what exactly happened the entire time, we shall let the pix do the talking. (As soon as I get them from Ms Shanthi)
Now I just want to thank Tiara & Aqilah for organising this camp, they have put in effort for their first try! *round of applause* Is it that we will have another camp in June?
I am very disappointed though, with people that did not turn up at all w/o a valid reason. Some of us turned up late, but better late than never, right? So here's to all the rest of the councillors: you better produce a good reason why you did not turn up for camp to the camp ICs, as mentioned above.
Thank you, those who came to the camp. I think the highlight was mainly the barbecue, (for me) becos there was good food to eat, right? And so many leftovers... It was such a waste. I ate till I was so bloated, like a pufferfish. Please be patient while waiting for the teachers to compile the photos and for me to post them up, because there is A LOT~
And not to forget all the ex-tamps that came: Kenneth, Ratna, Khairul, Izyan, Ewanny... thank you. It was partially my fault for not posting the details of the barbecue here. My sincerest apologies...
Do not fret, the next gathering I WILL put it up here. So sorry to all the ex-tamps who wanted to come.

We are stepping down soon. Time flies too fast. Soon the current sec 3s will reign the council. Please give them your support. Please upgrade the council, and improve what the sec 4s have failed to improve. Thank you. We all want to see the council grow...
P.S. Elsa, are you still making the skin for us?

And the event commitees (esp. the fundraising) should be meeting up to get ready their proposals, because Isaac will be asking for it soon enough.

Hello my lil ones!
This is a long overdue post. (understatement)
Firstly, lemme take this time to thank our beloved sec 2 and sec 3 councillors who
have performed the greatest feat council can ever perfom... fundraise a profit of 800 plus plus plus (is it? not sure of the amount) but yes, I am awestruck myself and my heart will swell with pride when I think of these people.
I would like to specially thank Benjamin and Mistika, the ICs for the V.Day project.
GREAT JOB! *claps, grins*
And my sec threes of cos, *wink* have done not too bad a job themselves during Mass Run.
Now its time for Aqilah and Tiara to take the stage during our council camp
hahahahahahah I'm going to be as sadist as I possibly can during the camp!
*evil laugh*

Ok, I know our Chuwy (Isaac) has promised you something but I cannot post anything until he has sent it to me.

I see an improvement in the duty-doing people. More people reading storybooks/mags when free and etc etc. In fact, I rarely see people slacking anymore.

Rants of a VP

I am super buey song/tak happy with some of you!
Why aren't you turning up for duty, or reporting late?
This is not responsible behaviour... blah blah blah. I don't want to go there.
Except for the senior councillors in 4E4 who have class after morning assembly, I expect everyone to be at their respective duty locations!
And don't give me that crap excuses, some of you. I hate it when I see people slack. Especially those in the canteen. Or who hang around in the canteen anyway. There can't possibly be meetings every single day.
Benches, I have a new idea for you guys. You can choose to either help out with Front Gate (where I am) or sit in the canteen reading.

Block G, please remember to lock the gate. and all block duties please patrol!

P.S. I saw you climb out of the windows of the primary school block toilet right at the top. You know who you are.

Attire check!

Just for your info, Mr Hafiz is conducting an attire check tomorrow, 7 Jan 2008.
Councillors, kindly primp yourselves up, (a little more than usual tomorrow). Do take note that the following are probably NOT accepted by him:

  • coloured hair
  • 'invisible' socks
  • coloured socks
  • not sure about coloured laces, but they're not actually allowed, so...

Girls with long hair, please tie it up, guys with long hair, GET IT CUT. (altho at this time its probably too late) Tuck in your shirts unless you're wearing the new uniform and girls, you are not hookers so ensure that your skirt is NOT TOO SHORT! You know who you are, so I don't want to embarrass you by pointing you out here. Just make sure it touches the knee. Your ties should be pulled up high enough and your new shiny badges in place. (straight, OK. I'm anal when it comes to this)

I should stop nagging. I think that's all. See you tomorrow at 7.20 pm, path between pavilion (reporting place) and canteen. Do NOT be late! Consider yourself warned. Mr Hafiz HATES people who are late.

The Passover.

Yay! Now the blog is in the current sec fours' hands. :D

Disclaimer:
We have some issues to settle, now that its a new year; 2009! I am sure that you have heard about this blog from your seniors or whoever that has passed this url down to you. This blog will henceforth be your GPS system when you are unsure of anything and require directions. Updates will be here... and will be made known either verbally, through notices put up at the council notice board (which is beside the council room for those who are unaware) or both.
If you find that you read something here your friends do not know about, kindly inform them of whatever new notices are here (just in case they are cluelessly unaware that a council blog existed, or they don't own a computer).

I hope you guys had sufficient/ample time during the holidays (I know I felt like I didn’t) to accomplish worthy things, play and hang out with your people, and get enough sleep.
Now that its the new year, I know that many of you are confused regarding what you have to do, but please do not worry because the seniors will always be available for you to ask whatever questions you have regarding council!

Please take note of the following:

Duty rosters: Your duties will be changed once a month, what with the graduating seniors already graduated and happily enjoying their holidays with no academic headache to deal with, and the new secondary ones (who are currently secondary twos) and our secondary threes and whatever. Please do NOT complain that your duty is boring or anything regarding that matter. Your seniors have been through it before as well. Your duties will most likely change (except for cockpit and some other duty locations). Everyone will have to do it! (especially PCA!) We will announce verbally when your new duties are put up; probably sometimes next week, methinks. So be afraid. Be verrrrry afraid for your new duties. You better do them well!

Commitees: I bet half of you don’t even know which commitee you belong to. Okay, for your info, there are event commitees as well as main commitees. It is a lot to explain, but we really need to get it settled ASAP, so there will be a meeting held sometime soon.

Meeting: Like I said above, a meeting WILL be held sometime soon. This meeting is extremely important, for it will clear many many things like the commitees (briefly explained above). Your attendance will be much appreciated, as well as vital. So you know the importance of this meeting (and every other meeting we call as well). We will inform you soon of the details. I will either post another notice here, or the word will spread that there will be a meeting soon.

Attire: ALRIGHT! we have just recieved our new shiny badges today! Kindly straighten it cos I think it seriously looks ugly when slanted. Welcome to the council, Sec 2s a.ka. Junior Councillors! Please perform your duties well and act like a councillor.

I confirm some of you have misplaced your badges/ties. Regarding this, you can purchase badges from Shamir. If I am not mistaken, it costs $7 per tie. It is demanded of us that we dress properly. Especially with the new secondary ones joining us, we need to ‘psycho’them by giving a good impression into joining this wonderful council to serve the school. It is an honor! *shining eyes* The sec 2s will be given brand new silk ties!!!!!!!!! ALRIGHT!!!!! (ok, whatever, I am self-high here)

I would like all of you to be serious about the council. I am not joking. VERY serious. Though cliche, it is true that there IS a time to be pretty darn serious and there is also a time to be having the time of your lives. If I/seniors/teachers/other students who come to tell us catch any of you monkey around/seriously breaking the rules (e.g. smoking, talking back to your seniors/teachers, skipping class) I will NOT AND NEVER HESITATE to debate with the rest of the seniors whether to expel you from the council. I will not allow any of you to tarnish the name of TPSC. Remember that.

Oh yeah, before I forget - the previous tagboard was badly spammed, what with uncouth people calling us dogs. Please do not mind them. Even my name has been wrongly used to snub and slander at Council. But we shan't degrade, cheapen, downgrade, demote ourselves to such insulting, cheeky, abusive, disrespectful, brusque, impertinent, insolent, impudent, discourteous, uncivil, unmannerly, ill-mannered, vulgar people. There. A whole worth of it. So take this as a warning: Kindly do not tag inappropriate content at our tagboard. And do not bother fighting back if it DOES occur as well.

To link the council blog is optional, though it is greatly advised for you not to do so, to prevent the frequency of the abovementioned from occuring.

End of the old, Start of the New

Well my dear councillors, we have journeyed together for six months( although maybe slightly
less than that). Through this six months, yes, we know it was tough. We played together, shared the same boredom and sadness. The memories will linger but as we approach the New year, may the past bad experiences be left behind us and may we proceed forward as one council.. I would also like to express my
apologies to all you who got the bad stuff from me during the course of the six months.
I hope that the New Year will be more fulfilling than this year and there would be more life to
the council after we have all rejuvinated during the holidays. Well, I'll see all of you at the start
of the new school term and I wish all of you a very fruitful and Happy New Year in advance.

Also, for all who are involved in the Sec 1 Registration ( I hope you know who you are), please meet in the Bedok school council room ( Blk B level 2) at 11a.m on 18th December. If you don't know where Blk B is, we will come and pick you up at 11a.m from the canteen.

There is a welfare meeting on Monday too...but after the exco meeting...

The welfare meeting might start at 11am...meet in council room pls...

And welfareans, do come on Thurs and Fri to help Chia Hui finalise the packing of the council room...although Grad Niteans are excused...including me...hahaha!

If u are overseas or having CCA, u are also excused.

The agenda of the welfare meeting is VERY BIG, I assure you...

Attendance for the welfare meeting is COMPULSORY!

We have lots to catch up on too...

There might be games in case of "SUPER-BOREDOM"!!

Sec 1 Registration details

Here are the people involved in the upcoming Sec 1 registration on 21st December:

Office Foyer: Clement & Syed
Hall Staircase: Isaac & Brian
Hall entrance: Akmal & Shamir

Registration Officers:
1E1: Grace & Amalina
1E2: Chia Hui & Faizah
1E3: Felicia & Cheryl
1E4: Xin Yi & Natasha
1E5: Amelia & Diyana
1N1: Aindayana & Hidayu
1N2: Ben Oh & Elena
1T1: Benson & Jia En

Standby/Relief: Nicholas, Cherry & Ratna

Details of various duties:

  • Councillors at the foyer and canteen are to assist pupils (Sec 1 2008) to check their classes and direct them to the hall.
  • Councillors at the hall staircases are to literally bring the pupils and their parents up to the hall entrance.
  • Councillors stationed at hall entrances are to distribute the queue numbers to parents and pupils according to class. (first ask them what class they're in and give them the card according to their class) The cards are given out on a first-come-first served basis.

Rgistration officers (ROs):

Collect box of allocated class containing class namelist, booklist, uniform order list and registration booklet. Proceed to hall and set up shop at the allocated class table.

Registration officers are to collect & keep report books of students and verify the school posting slip at the back of the report book. The pupil will then sign on the class namelist. The registration booklet, book and uniform list will be given upon signing of namelist. The pupil will then be asked to proceed to the canteen to buy respective items.

If a pupil wishes to appeal out, the above steps must first be completed. Only two reasons will be accepted for transfer: medical reason or change of address. If pupil insists on appealing, ROs will refer pupil to accompaniying teacher or to the mass appeal counter.

By 12 noon, namelists must be submitted to teachers and report books sorted and stored in the General Office.

Reporting time: 7a.m sharp

Venue: Bedok-Tampines Secondary school canteen

Note: ALL councillors are expected to be in full council uniform. Foot wear will be black leather shoes (guys) and black court shoes (girls) and stockings (for girls...obviously)

All Junior councillors doing registration are to prchase the council white uniform by 21st Dec. Do check with your seniors whether the uniform purchased is acceptable. { Unifrom is whte long sleeved shirt (guys) or white short sleeved blouse (girls) and white pants or skirt)

Blazers are to be worn. For those who have not collected your blazers, please attempt to get in from Mr. Momok on 22nd Nov (late morning to mid afternoon) OR on the day of registration (report at 6:45 to try out blazers...) in the council room

End time: We will end when we feel like it (It's the holidays BTW...)

Meeting!!!



Hello all you wonderful people!!!! Please note that there will be a full council meeting on Wednesday, 29th August 2007, tentatively in the music room. The tentative agenda will be:
1. Pre-meeting games conducted by Welfare person. ( With requests from you people)
2. Distribution of council photos ( If all of you have paid and Khairul hands in the money by this Friday)
3. Canteen roster.
4. Dedications to teachers.
5. Designing of posters for teacher's day. (It would be much appreciated if you people could bring some colouring materials...)

Okie...right...so I'm like back...after not posting for about 3 weeks...

MEETING THINGYSSSSsss....

I know you all are bored by the meetings we have...seriously who doesn't?? Yes, pls do try to endure with us...it's not easy conducting a meeting...BIG TIME serious...

So we'll try to play some games( if possible, unless you babies go whining and saying "HUH???!!") should there be LESS agendas n MORE time.

I have also been receiving feedbacks from some people that they do not want sec.4s to be around. Ok...I understand that you do not want the "old people" to "crash our party" and "cramp our style"(whatever...). Some refer to it as "sabotaging the BBQ"...

We'll discuss this on TOP PRIORITY during the next meeting.

.RECAP! about today's meeting.

Welcome to all junior councillors to the council family. Remember: Once you put on your badges and ties...you are ONE OF US...

RECAPing today's meeting:

Investiture rehearsals: Monday is full dress. Pls have all your attire requirements. Tuesday is sch. uniform. Wednesday is the BIG DAY.

Junior councillors: Put on badge daily and follow school dress code. From now on, you all will have to follow the school rules RELIGIOUSLY( as in like...really follow it).

Reporting time for duty: Latest is 7.20am. No later than that, or Mr Momok (Kenneth) will get you. New duty roster coming soon!

Please also hand in all letters of excuses promptly to Mr. Momok. Absence of badge must be reported to Mr. Momok promptly in the morning before morning assembly.

Well, I think that is all and if Mr Momok, Minnie mouse (that's Amirah) or Khairul (he's got no name for the moment) have anything to say, they will post another post. (weird...)

Ok...so as a tradition...I will always say:

To all your sad cries of bitterness about having council meetings on Wednesdays, well...let's have an overview of it.

If only a MINORTIY of you can't make it, we can have others to transmit the message and meeting agenda to you. We are a council and COMMUNICATION is vital.

THANKS to all who have put up with the hectic investiture rehearsals. It IS an important event for us. So we should all give kudos to Ewanny, Hazirah and the committee who dedicated so much time and effort just to make this investiture a success.

Okie...since Jane suggested we do a short and sweet (not really) post, I shall use the magic of summary on this post. Yay!!! (clap clap clap) I'm making myself happy here...

1) Pls turn up for investiture rehearsals. We do not want Ewanny, Hazirah and the rest of the crew to release the hounds on you people. It's not nice and it's expensive.

2) Band members are excused for the moment (I need to confirm with Mr. Tan). We rather miss this round than the full dress rehearsals right?? (Anways, panic not! We will do our best to fight for this investiture!!)

3) We hope you all will warmly invite the newly selected junior councillors. As you all know, we must treat them with hospitality and show them that council is REALLY FUN!!! (show the fun side, not the Dark Side!)

Warning again...

Ok...I guess you all are wondering why I'm posting this in the morning. I was at Lab D.( ok...back to business)

.INVESTITURE REHEARSALS.

A bit of harsh and serious tone: Listen you guys...Investiture is YOUR investiture. If you think your CCAs are important, then go ahead. No one can stop you, except the teachers. But on that fateful day of the investiture, if you guys screw-up, you all are going to get hit on the head REAL BAD!! For all those with CIPs (for the HK students), you all have a valid excuse. For those with swimming classes, pls be back ASAP.
TO ALL: HAVE YOUR LUNCH BEFORE THE REHEARSAL.
It's going to be very tiring. I've been there and done that. So pls have your daily nutrition of lunchies!!

.TIME MANAGEMENT.
Please know how to balance your time well. You guys are old enough to think for yourselves. We want to treat you guys like mature adults. But how can we treat your as adults when your don't think like adults? So pls, change your mindset and attitude. (I'm not being harsh, just firm.)

Your priority

Okie all you happy people...once again Welfare person (Sean) will be posting another post. I've changed my name to Welfare person due to puns such as underwear, socks and whatever rubbish your wonderful friend Jie Hao can think of. (Sorry, no offence Jie Hao...)

As you can figure out by this post's title...it's related to your priorities. Since there is an investiture rehearsal on this Friday, all those who have CCAs are to be excused as your presence is greatly appreciated and needed at the rehearsal...

We need to estimate the number of people, the movement, steps, entrance, and what-have-you.
Pls also note that your priorities will be attending all investiture rehearsals (We don't want any cock-ups, do we??) and your homework ok. Only after the rehearsals then will you be allowed to return to your CCAs, provided that you all cooperate and there will be no set-backs from the committee...(which we'll be praying religiously)

Pls also note that the council room is OUT OF BOUNDS until further notice...due to a scent that many of you will dislike. I shall not go into further details about that.
Do also note that Mr.Momok would like to meet all investiture committee members tomorrow morning at the detention tables at 7:00a.m.

Departmental issues: SM

Well, since Hush Puppy insisted, i guess I should post about the SM dept. Anyway, you all know about passing letters of absence to me. However, you may not know about passing letters to the EXCOMs of SM, namely: Ratna( who is also Chair of Teacher's Day Comt), Miss Felicia (of class 3E1), Grace ( who is also named Gracey Macey) and Clement. The letters need not be signed by parents but must however, be accompanied by a verbal explanation for reason of absence. Your letter matters as your attendance for meetings, duties etc will constitute your overall attendance. If the percentage is less than 70%, you won't get your CCA points for that year. Your letters will help to prove that you were absent with a valid reason. (Do note that not all reasons you provide will be classified as valid. The teachers will dictate your fate.) Therefore, it is your responsibility to hand in your letters to the SM EXCO or myself within a 2-day time frame

The SM com also has the unscrupulous task of working hand-in-hand with Khairul and the 3 VPs ( which includes myself) to ensure that the code of conduct is observed by all you people. Believe me, we don't enjoy scolding and nagging at you. What we are angry about is not you. You are alright as a person. What we are antagonised by is your attitude. We want you to change for the better, to become a new person who is mature in physical appearance as well as thought.

For all SM comm members, do note that there may be a meeting soon. So be on your toes.

Ok...I know that the Live Earth thingy was yesterday...but this post isn't related to that...it's related to the Welfare committee...(yes...I'm being lame again) =D

Back to business, the welfare committee would appreciate it if you people can go around finding Cheryl (Miss Cheryl Fox), Chia Hui ( The loud 2E2 girl we all know), Ben Oh (Oh yes, him...) and of course me ( Your "wonderful" welfare head and person posting this thing) to tell us your birthDATES. It would be really, really, really wonderful if you guys can like...make our lives easier and do it like a "class-councillors-effort" thing...(if you know what I mean).

There WILL be a council BBQ after the investiture, hopefully when EVERYONE is free of homework, tests, NPPAs, In-Focus and all those rubbish.

Serious Business...loads of serious business...

Okie all you council people...the court shall now come to serious order.

First things first: MEETING!!
All you people who cannot make it for future meetings, pls inform Amirah AND Mrs Lee or Miss Shanthi...
We really value your presence at EVERY SINGLE MEETING!!
And since we're all happy neighbours in our wonderful school, we hope that you guys can help inform each other about meetings and absentism...(if tat's even a word)

Next: BEHAVIOUR
I have noticed amongst all you people who are averagely slightly taller than me to be rather chatty during meetings. Pls refrain from talking too excessively and loudly. As you all should know by now (especially you sec.3s) that DECORUM must be observed AT ALL TIMES during meetings. Whispers are highly encouraged...so does the cliche method of raising your hands for questions and what-not. But don't worry, they will be a Q n A section after every meeting.

Next (again): ATTIRE
I hope all of you abide by the school rules and not violate it like some people...(namely Amelia...you know what you did, Missy...) I shall let Mr. Momok himself elaborate on this further as it is his expertise and role.

Next (again){again}: DUTIES!!
Ok...so all of you...I hope...should know how to do your duties (I know front gate's a bit confusing...but I'm also learning...) and make the very best out of it. Remember why you are they and the council motto...To lead, to SERVE and to guide.

Other Not-So-Important matters but still are as Important

Ok guys...we have come to a brand new term n month...so happy birthday to all you July babies...(yay...ya whatever...) Now back to business...speaking of birthdays, I will be going around collecting all your birthDATES...so please take the initiative to come up to me. (Don't make poor Sean come up to you...pls...LOL!!) To all welfare committee members, we'll be meeting up soon(Date, time, venue is unsure for now) for a plan on this year's events.( BBQs...birthdays...you name it, we do it)

As you all know, the new junior counillors will be joining us soon(IF...they make it thru' the interview). So pls set a good example and "psycho" them that council is REALLY FUN!! (weee!!)

A bit of seriousness here:

Kenneth (momok) has reminded u guys not to be late for your reporting of duties, I shall reinforce it again. Sometimes, people make mistakes. Seriously, even I have been late for reporting for duty...so pls...make an effort ok?

During meetings, it would seriously be appreciated if you guys refrain from talking. It's majorly rude towards the speaker and the people listening.

Also, to all Arts Fest performers, a very good luck to you all and all the best. I know most of you are busy with the rehearsals. Do your best and make it the best. Make council proud too. =D

Reminders & other matters

Investiture
Please note that rehearsals for investiture are scheduled on the 11, 13, 16 and 20 and 23 July. Attendance is compulsory unless a valid reason is provided. Absence must be covered with a letter of absence to the Student Management department. Full council uniform must be presented to the council teachers on the 16th July. Full dress rehearsal will take place on both the 2oth and 23rd July. (Do us a simple favour, memorise the council creed if you have not done so....)

Duty matters
Please be notified that reporting time for duty is at 7a.m onwards. Do note that the official reporting time closes at 7:25 a.m. Any and all who report after the closing time will be considered late and will be seen to by the SM department. Any absence from duty ( excluding TFC or band) must again, be covered by a letter of absence. In the event of an involvement with an activity which impedes your duty, please forewarn the overall I/Cs beforehand.

Council Blog
As you can see, the blog is very, very, very....(you get what I mean) plain. It is our wish to see some idealistic blogskins being designed and proposed for use for our blog. Do remember, this is the council blog. Anyone can suggest or design a blogskin to one of the 4 heads. The sooner we get this done, the better it will be for our blog.
